For the past 32 years, the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce has acknowledged all of the hard work and kindness teachers have expressed by presenting them with the Outstanding Teacher Award. This year, 725 teachers were nominated.

The nominations came from friends, family, students, and other staff. Several teachers from Gateway and Crossroads received the award. Those teachers are; Heather Brown, Jerome Georgiana (a.k.a., G), Jim Clements, David Danaher, Nicole Flagg, Josephine Murphy, Mary Reed, and Lauren Ricketts.

Since this year has been different due to Covid restrictions, the event was live streamed on March 20. The Chamber of Commerce sent the awards to the schools, where the principals presented them to the teachers.

Mr. Wetzel and Mr. Wargo handed out the awards in front of the school after hours on April 20. They used the picnic table to set up everything and along with the awards, they gave a box of Ferrero Chocolates to the outstanding teachers.

The teachers at Gateway and Crossroads put extra care into our time at school to tend to our needs. We are all very proud of our teachers for being nominated and we congratulate them on this honor!
