Learning with Legos

Megan Park, Staff Reporter

Mrs. Johengen’s algebra II classes built Lego furniture for Linear Programming, which is an application of graphing systems of linear equalities.

The students were given 16 small Lego blocks and 12 large Lego blocks. The chairs were made of 2 small blocks and 1 large block each, tables were 4 large and 4 small blocks.

The students learned a business application and maximizing profit while minimizing costs. They didn’t do much with the lego furniture after they were done building, they just took it apart.

The students who participated in this activity were Ray Swidarski, Angel Becker, Jennifer Dominguez, Jacob Dupre, Chris Tagliamburis, and Max McConnell.
