How can you show your appreciation for your favorite teacher? Nominate them for Outstanding Teacher!
Each year, there is an award given to the most outstanding teacher of the year. The nominations apply for all teachers across Carroll County Public Schools. This applies for elementary, middle, high school, and schools like Gateway, Crossroads, the Career and Technology Center, Outdoor School, and more.
The award does not only apply for teachers, it is for all staff members that applied for it, but counselors, principals, and former winners are not eligible for it, along with teachers who have not been in the teaching profession, or something related to it for at least six years, as of June 30, 2024.
After they are nominated, teachers who have filled out a biographical form are eligible for consideration for Teacher of the Year.
Teachers are more likely to be nominated depending on their behavior with the students and the school, if they’re nice or they’re helpful or inspiring.
Anyone can vote for as many teachers as they want.
Teachers are nominated on the Carroll County Public Schools website. The deadline for votes is Jan. 8, 2024, but the finalists and winner are announced in March.
