If you are in a smaller class, it is even more imperative you show up because you make up a more considerable percentage of the class.
Assistant principal, Mr. Jones, was responsible for constructing The Attendance Challenge and enacting it at Gateway/Crossroads. All in one day, Mr. Jones said, “Let’s go!” and made it happen.
Mr. Jones decided to put this challenge into place in hopes of increasing attendance and rewarding the kids who go to school regularly. He mentioned that national attendance rates have been dropping and believes that students have become accustomed to the “oh, I can stay at home and do the work,” mentality. Mr. stressed that, “school is the most important thing [students] have going on at this age,” and “students need actual seat time.” Having interactions with peers and learning how to advocate for yourself helps build the foundation for being a productive adult.
Since you’re supposed to be here anyway, participate in The Attendance Challenge. If not for your own self-improvement and development, for your classmates, who all they can do is believe in you. So, take hold of your future in high school by going to school and competing in The Greatest Attendance Challenge at Gateway/Crossroads. You won’t regret attending school.
